What a difference fron the current batch of Labour politicians who are so partisan and with narrow visions as to what they and their party can gain while in power. Its the usual stuff we hear from labour: its all the PN's fault or the PN started it or the PN did worse. Its the usual labour rhetoric to justify their excsses. Illegalities, corruption and violence. Labour cannot admit its faults so no wonder we are back to the 80s. I expected more honest and intelligent replies from Dr Sant. But here he speaks like any other Gahan.

Decisions have to be made on the reality that the electorate are facing and the President's decision calls on the newly-to-be-elected Parliament to assume their responsibilities, together with him as President - for the difficult decisions that have to be taken henceforth for the benefit of the country. The Palace and the Square have to act with a synergy between them ... Why are parliamentary elections being held in France and not in Germany? In the case of France, Macron is the executive President, the head of state who needs a parliament that he can work with . Since there was a shift to the right in the European Parliamentary elections, the President has the duty to see how he can work with a government that has popular support. In the case of Germany - with a different political system - it is clear that the extreme right party -the Alternative fur Deutchland and the National Rally (Le Pen's party) will not remain in the same group in the European Parliament. Chancellor Scholtz (prime minister) is not faced with a vote of no confidence, but with an electoral mid-term defeat. The parties in Germany that are pro-EU, apart from the parties in Scholtz's coalition , include the main party in the opposition, CDU-CSU.
