The overwhelming majority of people who access the Internet will do so superficially, digesting only, one liner, second and third hand selective and often misleading headlines and snippets. That is why certain politicians and 'influencers' keep leading so many by the nose.

latest comment from Santana Santana, 27/05/2024 17:47: The PM is right on law dictionary entry on the Inquiry's findings, not being a guilty sentence. A more obvious sign of the massive wrongdoing, by the PL's top dogs, is the unrelenting efforts by same, the AG and the Police to bury said magisterial inquiry. Their lack of positive cooperation with the inquiry, is absolutely incredible.

Treating people as second class nobodies is apt to stir dissent and rebellion. The up to now experiment has failed, causing the violent death of thousands and achieved nothing but destruction and misery for Palestinians.Such is the present disaster between Israel and the Palestinians. HAMAS is not helping legitimate Palestinians achieve their goals of having a secure land with defined borders of their own, and becoming full members of the United Nations. The fact that Spain, Ireland and Norway decided to recognize Palestine as an independent State, should not upset Israel and surely more will follow the lead of the three countries. It is about time that Israel negotiates, in good faith, a permanent solution to long standing animosity with their neighbours. As much as Israel has the absolute right to defend itself, so does a Palestinian State. If this comes to be, HAMAS will have less reason to resort to violence epecially against Israel. On the other hand, if Israel has a beef with HAMAS they should settle it with HAMAS not with thousands of Palestinians whose life has been reduced to sheer misery.

latest comment from J. Borg, 27/05/2024 08:19: We never actually saw the Egrant inquiry. It was kept from the public, and only the most convenient soundbites published. It seems that Muscat's libel case against the Caruana Galizia family may well blow up in his face though, as I believe it is going to be used as evidence, which means it will become publicly available. Muscat's lawyers objected very strongly about this -- which suggests that there is stuff in there which they don't want us to see!

The only reason that went through was the government guarantee of €400 million which allowed Electrogas to secure funding and covering all the secret agreements. In Vitals at one point someone in government refused to support Vitals to secure their loan to ensure transfer to Stewards and in the process the rats started attacking each other. Maybe at that point the interested hidden parties were concerned that they were going to lose their cut.
